Volunteer with the Farmers Market!

Get together with others who love the farmers market and help make the it happen. We're looking for:

Market Day Volunteers:

  • Set Up (Sat: 7:30 am - 9:30 am; Wed: 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm)  Set up canopies, market signs, music stage and garbage cans; help vendors unload; arrange market info booth display.
  • Market Information Booth (Sat: 9:30 am - 11:30 pm and 11:30 am - 2:00 pm; Wed: 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm)  Visit with shoppers and answer their questions, sell market merchandise, and take shopper counts.
  • Take Down (Sat: 1:30 pm - 3 pm; Wed: 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm)  Take down canopies, market signs, music stage and garbage cans; collect vendors fees; and help vendors load up.

Free coffee, tea or smoothie drink

for each market day volunteer courtsey of The Vault Cafe upstairs in Aldriches.

Office and Special Project Interns and Volunteers:

  • Office assistant: Assist the Market Manager in filling merchandise orders, organizing our office files, answering phone calls and emails, data entry of vendor and other market information, etc.
  • Special Event Planning: Assist Market Manager and Marketing Committee in planning one or more market events including periodic picnics at the market for local groups, the Strawberry Festival (July 5), National Farmers Market Week celebrations in collaboration with local ag groups (Aug 4-9), Back to School celebrations (Sept 8-13), Pumpkin Festival (Oct 25), and Harvest Dinner fundraisers for the market.

Support the Market

Your annual donation allows the Port Townsend Farmers Market to provide a direct marketing outlet for local farmers, food producers and artisans at a reasonable cost; act as an incubator for small businesses in Jefferson County; produce events and activities throughout the season; and augment market infrastructure. 

The Friends of the Farmers Market has:  

  • helped the Market to keep vendor fees at the same rate for many years
  • provided picnic benches and tables
  • purchased sound equipment for the music stage
  • provided computer equipment for the office
